General Administration Of Customs: Textile And Clothing Exports Increased By 14.3% From January To February 2024

In 2024, China's policy of stabilizing the economy and foreign trade will continue to work. Driven by the recovery of overseas demand, more convenient trade exchanges, accelerated development of new forms and models of foreign trade, and the low base effect in the same period last year, China's textile and clothing exports continued the recovery trend in January and February last year, continued to maintain growth, and generally recovered.

According to the latest data released by the General Administration of Customs on March 7, in US dollars, textile and clothing exports in January and February totaled US $45.09 billion, up 14.3% year on year, including US $21.71 billion in textile exports, up 15.5%, and US $23.38 billion in clothing exports, up 13.1% %, the growth rate exceeded the growth rate of national goods trade exports.

Despite the rapid growth, the export volume in January and February has not yet reached the level of the same period in 2022, which is still a recovery growth. At present, China's foreign trade in textile and clothing is still facing many uncertainties. The foreign trade situation is still severe and complex, and the export performance in the next stage remains to be observed.

From January to February 2024, the total export of textile and clothing is 320.53 billion yuan, an increase of 17.5% over the same period last year (the same below), including 154.33 billion yuan of textile exports, an increase of 18.9%, and 166.2 billion yuan of clothing exports, an increase of 16.3%.

From January to February 2024, the total value of import and export of goods trade is 6613.79 billion yuan, an increase of 8.7% over the same period last year, including 3752.32 billion yuan of export, an increase of 10.3%, and 2861.46 billion yuan of import, an increase of 6.7%.

From January to February 2024, the total value of import and export of goods trade is 930.86 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.5%, of which export is 528.01 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.1%, and import is 402.85 billion US dollars, an increase of 3.5%.
